About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join us as a full-time retail purchasing agent. In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring inventory from suppliers and retail stores following company protocols. Evaluating items based on specific criteria provided in data charts is a key aspect of the job, and you will be expected to visit various retail outlets within the Kansas City metro area. This position involves being on your feet around 6-7 hours daily, with the rest of the time spent on the road. Managing a detailed purchase ledger, organizing receipts, and tracking item costs using our mobile software are part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with our Purchasing Manager, who will offer training and support as you settle into your role.

A Day in the Life:

  • Receive daily store route from Purchasing Manager
  • Visit designated stores and select items meeting company criteria for resale
  • Maintain electronic purchase ledger, receipts, and item costs
  • Update inventory records using software
  • Record Mileage Information
  • Bring purchased items back to warehouse in Independence MO for processing

Essential Functions (ADA)

Physical requirements: Ability to follow instructions, walk, stand, handle objects and tools, reach, balance, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Visual abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Must be able to stand/walk for 6-7 hours and drive for 1-2 hours daily.

Work Environment: Working environment is quiet to moderate, primarily visiting various retail stores.
