1. Role Overview:

In the position of Senior Youth Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining services and programs tailored to meet the specific needs of youth and families. This role involves assisting in the planning, leading, and evaluation of youth and family programs, all while upholding ethical behavior and establishing clear boundaries with youth.

2. Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Manager or Director in organizing youth and family programs.

- Conduct all aspects of case management for youth in a culturally sensitive manner.

- Identify and coordinate community resources for referrals when necessary.

- Assist in the training of new Youth Support Specialists.

- Shadow team members to provide support and training as required.

- Ensure the team stays updated with relevant trainings.

- Foster relationships with peers, community partners, educators, and families to meet program goals.

- Develop nurturing relationships with youth and families.

- Provide guidance to team members, interns, and volunteers.

- Handle administrative tasks to support the program.

- Lead office hours or team meetings in the absence of the Manager or Director.

- Manage specific data points assigned by the manager.

- Support administrative duties such as billing and program referrals.

3. Reporting Structure:

This role reports to the Youth Support Program Manager or Director and interacts with various stakeholders including youth, families, community partners, and YMCA staff.

4. Requirements:
Essential
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in youth development or related areas.
  • Experience in giving work direction.
  • Strong professionalism, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively.
  • Experience with diverse populations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, AED within 30 days.
  • Capability to transport youth if needed.
Preferred

- 1 year experience as a Youth Support Specialist
  • Proficiency in multiple languages.
  • Prior involvement in fundraising activities.
5. Working Conditions:
  • Physically active role including walking, standing, running, and lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Local travel may be required for meetings.
6. Additional Information:
