Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

As an Event Specialist, you'll wear many hats throughout the event planning process, from initial concept development to post-event analysis. You'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and Event Managers to oversee attendee management, registration, meetings management, promotional items, event logistics and a variety of other event related components. Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in event marketing and experiential marketing. Apply insights to continuously enhance the quality and impact of AMD's events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Familiarize yourself with the business goals behind each event to help you to approach each event with a customized strategy.
  • Work closely with third party suppliers to support the logistics and smooth running of shows and events. (or other AMD internal groups as appropriate?)
  • Manage master timelines and project manage event success across various teams, setting and implementing deadlines and cross functional dependencies.
  • Manage multiple vendors simultaneously on multiple projects.
  • Frequent interaction and communication with leadership and external vendors.
  • On-site support for designated meetings and events to ensure successful meeting execution
  • Actively research innovative technologies and experiences to elevate the client experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in event management, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Proven track record of planning and executing successful events which includes, but not limited to, conferences, tradeshows, product launches, sales kick-offs, incentives, hospitality, executive meetings, and trainings.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of current and emerging event marketing processes.
  • Proficiency in event management tools including Cvent, Workfront and Strategic Meetings Management (SMM) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.

Qualifications:

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
