At The Jewish Board, we don't just make a difference - we make a bigger difference as we serve 45,000 New Yorkers every year. Join our dedicated team that's been helping communities across New York City for almost 150 years and see just how big of a difference you can make.

Reasons you'll love working with us:

  • If you have a particular age range or population you're interested in working with, you can find your niche here. Our clients and staff are as diverse as the city we work in, and include people of all cultures, religions, races, gender expressions, and sexual orientations.
  • We're committed to supporting your career development by encouraging mobility and advancement across different program types and jobs.
  • With 70 locations throughout the five boroughs, you can work close to where you live.
  • Generous vacation time and 15 paid holidays will help you achieve a healthy work/life balance.
  • We offer an excellent benefits package with affordable, high-quality health and dental insurance with low co-pays.
  • You'll receive ongoing support through high-quality supervision, specialized trainings from our Continuing Education team, and an education benefit.
How you can make a bigger difference:

The OnTrackNY program serves adolescents and young adults who have experienced early psychosis. Our staff use a culturally-affirming, person-centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. The model uses a multidisciplinary team approach alongside evidence-based interventions and recovery-oriented models to enable participants to reach their goals. The team includes the Team Leader, Primary Clinicians, Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator, Supported Education and Employment Specialist, Peer Specialist, Psychiatrist, and Registered Nurse. Services are either provided at the clinic site, online, in the home, or other off-site locations in the community. 24-hour on-call services are included. Intensive education will be offered to all members of the OnTrackNY Team regarding the evidence-based model and their roles for members to adhere to fidelity standards and successfully support program participants.

The Primary Clinician/Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator is a dual role. It includes the role of clinician as well as the role of outreach and recruitment coordinator for the program. The ideal candidate partners with participants, families the interdisciplinary clinical team, and any systems involved in the participant's lives (educational, medical, social services etc.) to support reaching goals in a comprehensive way, while providing culturally affirming and curious services. The clinician must have a firm understanding of how trauma and race, class, and privilege impact families of color and must be willing to address these issues as part of the therapy process. The PC/ORC role also includes the screening and assessment of potential participants, rapid intake and enrollment, and partnering with the community to provide information about our services.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Act as primary resource and offer support to participants and families through the OnTrackNY evidence based model and differentiate care through phases of treatment: initial engagement, ongoing treatment, and Graduation (discharge) from OnTrack
  • Using active outreach and engagement to build relationships and maintain retention with participants and families
  • Use OnTrack evidence based practices, such as Core Sessions and Recovery Coaching, as well as therapeutic approaches based on Strengths Based Case Management, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Assess for safety and risk using evidence based models and support in safety planning and relapse prevention planning
  • Support participants holistically. Including but not limited to: medication use/management, medical care, health and wellness, education/employment, family housing/income, trauma-informed care, and suicide prevention
  • Collaborate with participants and team members on assessments, treatment planning, safety-planning, wellness self-management, and transition planning
  • Communicate and collaborate with the team actively and regularly via e-mail, telephone, and team meetings
  • Rotate on-call after-hours access responsibilities for crisis intervention purposes with other team members
Qualifications:

The Jewish Board is currently looking for talented individuals of all cultures, religions, races, and gender expressions with the following qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or Licensed Master of Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Trained and supervised in evidence-based practices
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience with similar populations, including working with young adults, supporting individuals with experience of altered perceptions
  • Supporting individual's families and social supports; utilizing a strengths-based, culturally affirming approach
  • Bilingual candidate preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of NYC and New York State community organizations and case coordination
  • Travel to participants or off site locations
  • If you join us, you'll have these great benefits:
  • Generous vacation time, in addition to paid agency holidays and 15 sick days
  • Affordable and high-quality medical/dental/vision plans
  • Tuition assistance and educational loan forgiveness
  • Free continuing education opportunities
  • 403(b) retirement benefits and a pension
