Job DescriptionYour CareerAs a Distinguished ASIC Design Engineer, you will define complex and scalable ASIC subsystems for our groundbreaking next-generation firewall products.

You will provide the technical leadership to ensure that our cybersecurity ASICs push the boundaries for features, performance, and reliability.

You will create architecture and microarchitecture specifications and validate them with modeling and simulation. You will also implement designs and verify them on diverse platforms including simulation, emulation, and silicon validation.

Your ImpactInfluence novel product initiatives with key insights about emerging and state-of-the-art ASIC and hardware system technologiesDefine the ASIC architecture and microarchitecture in close collaboration with the System Architecture team.

Validate complex ASIC architectures and microarchitectures with modeling and simulation.

Implement RTL designs in SystemVerilogEnsure that designs meet aggressive goals for functionality, performance, and reliability in close collaboration with ASIC verification and systems validation engineersEvaluate and enhance test plans to maximize coverageDebug complex test scenariosEnsure that designs meet aggressive goals for area, timing, power, and testability in close collaboration with ASIC physical design engineersOptimize architectures for power, performance, and areaGuide floorplanning choices at the block, subsystem, and chip levelsAdvise the design team in closing timing and reducing powerSuggest and implement improvements to the development processMentor and coach team membersQualificationsYour ExperienceBS in EE, CE, or CS required - MSEE preferred or equivalent military experience requiredMinimum 10 years experience in ASIC designDemonstrated success in taking multiple ASIC products from concept to mass productionDeep knowledge of computer networking from layers 1 to 4Expertise in SystemVerilog for designTechnical strength in the following areas is requiredDefining optimal architecture and microarchitecture solutionsModeling with SystemC, C++, or PythonDebugging simulation, emulation, and silicon validation testsAnalyzing physical design reports and fixing timing and power violationsExperience in the following areas is preferredCybersecurityNetwork simulation with Omnet++, ns-3, or equivalentFormal property verificationDefining powerful and scalable design for debug mechanismsDemonstrated ownership and independence in planning, debugging complex failures, closing metrics-driven tasks, driving vendors, and reporting statusStrong leadership, collaboration, and communication skillsAccomplished in writing technical documents and making compelling presentationsAdditional InformationThe TeamWe are the global cybersecurity leader, known for always challenging the security status quo.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location.

For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $193,800/yr to $313,500/yr.

The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be foundhere.
