We are currently seeking a hardware u/architect to join our switch division. In this role, you will be part of an exclusive team of approximately 10 members, where you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the architecture of NVIDIA's upcoming switch product lines, spanning Ethernet and InfiniBand technologies. Your responsibilities will be diverse, involving collaboration with software, ASIC design, verification, physical design, and platform teams.

What you'll be doing:

  • Learn and master the switch u/architecture thoroughly, becoming a key knowledge source for design and verification engineers.
  • Define the implementation of advanced features and algorithms in our next-generation products, balancing architectural requirements with design considerations.
  • Understand system requirements and contribute to defining the future direction of our switch product line.
  • Tackle complex Full-Chip correctness and performance challenges that necessitate a holistic understanding of the chip beyond individual unit designs.
  • Collaborate closely with board and package design teams to navigate various design constraints such as power, temperature, and signal integrity.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of Ethernet, InfiniBand, and NvLink protocols.

What we need to see:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Over 12 years of experience in ASIC development.
  • More than 5 years of involvement in uArch/Arch definitions of networking ASICs.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Verilog/VHDL programming.
  • Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Capability to lead complex initiatives involving multiple interfaces and teams.
  • Effective communication abilities.

Ways to distinguish yourself:

  • Expertise in switching fabrics with stringent performance demands (Networking, SOC connectivity, etc.).
  • Prior experience as an HW-architect.
  • Familiarity with large-scale high-end ASIC projects.

The base salary for this position ranges from $272,000 to $419,750 annually and will be determined based on factors like your location, experience, and industry standards. In addition to your salary, you will be entitled to equity and a comprehensive benefits package. NVIDIA welcomes applications on an ongoing basis.
