About the Role: Account Manager at WestRock


As an Account Manager, your main role will be acting as a bridge between Corporate Accounts, Strategic Regional Accounts, WestRock plants, and Customer locations. Your primary responsibility is to provide specialized support to assigned WestRock customers, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and effectively.


Moreover, you will be implementing a value-based sales strategy to engage WestRock resources at designated locations, ensuring that customer critical business issues and needs are addressed.



  • Act as the intermediary between WestRock and customers, aiding supplier plants in enhancing overall customer service
  • Develop project plans and oversee the entire process of customer specifications, logistics, and issue resolution
  • Ensure customer needs are fulfilled while aligning with MD business goals
  • Assist in budget planning and management in collaboration with Sales and Financial Managers
  • Gain insights into the customers' market landscape to identify opportunities to enhance value, efficiency, and provide training for customer manufacturing lines proactively
  • Manage both internal and external customer relationships by offering value-added sales and service support solutions for continuous value delivery
  • Create and enhance Opportunity Plans that correspond with Corporate Account's Key Account Profiles (KAP's)
  • Regularly review Opportunity Plans with the VP Sales
  • Collaborate with production, manufacturing, and account teams to ensure effective communication of customer needs

Requirements for Success:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree
  • Corrugated sales experience of 2-3 years preferred
  • 5+ years of related experience in sales, project management, or technical training
  • Comprehensive understanding of various types of equipment, technical capabilities, and packaging solutions in the packaging industry
  • Proven proficiency in packaging systems
  • Demonstrated sales skills and business acumen
  • Ability to offer clarity on complex problems and devise long-term solutions
  • Effective management of multiple accounts and deadlines, with the ability to communicate across different functions and levels
  • Strong leadership qualities and sound business judgment
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
