Machine Operator

Duties:

  • Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators
  • Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order
  • Perform testing procedures to ensure that machines work optimally during the production procedures
  • Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift
  • Feed information akin to speed, shapes and sizes through the machine set up box
  • Place parts in semiautomated machines
  • Calibrate machines at the beginning of each shift
  • Recalibrate machines at the end of each shift
  • Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running
  • Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
  • Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out

Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude for machine adjustments
  • Ability to fabricate, weld, assemble, and package products as needed
  • Quality control skills for inspecting finished products and identifying defects
  • Materials handling skills for moving products between workstations or storage areas using hand tools or other equipment
  • Knowledge of tooling used in manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery

Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour
