Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aiming to increase access to healthcare in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.
The University offers degrees including Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Arts in Medical Science, and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy enrolling over 550 students annually with plans for further program development. Interprofessional education partnerships with other universities add another 100 students to the population. The campus comprises 300 employees with academic programming across a five-state region.
PNWU is situated in Yakima, WA, a city of about 95,000 residents located in the south-central part of the state near the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains in a major agricultural and outdoor recreation region. The Yakima Valley provides an excellent environment for residence, work, and leisure activities.
General Summary:
Conducts intricate administrative tasks to support a PNWU department or program, including financial duties, travel arrangements, project management, event coordination, and contract oversight. The role involves communication with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating education and accreditation activities, and generating reports and databases.
Essential Job Functions:
• Completes intricate administrative tasks for a PNWU department or program, such as proofreading, editing, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, managing events, and overseeing workflow.
• Manages communication via mail, email, and phone.
• Coordinates education-related activities, including Continuing Medical Education and accreditation.
• Aids committees with scheduling, set up, minute recording, and transcribing.
• Monitors office supply inventory and procures supplies as needed.
• Performs other assigned duties based on departmental requirements.
Education:
• Required: Associate's Degree
Experience:
• Required: 1-3 years

Skill in effective communication (both written and oral); skill in independent decision-making; skill in multitasking; skill in problem-solving; understanding of administrative procedures and practices; knowledge of computer systems and networks; knowledge of customer service principles; knowledge of project management processes; ability to perform accurate data entry and typing; ability to operate necessary equipment for assigned tasks.
