The Accounting Assistant will handle a variety of administrative, bookkeeping, and financial tasks, following established procedures for organizing and managing financial records, and generating financial reports and data.

Salary Range: $ per hour, depending on background

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support in managing monthly prepaid and accrual schedules
  • Assist in handling monthly Wells Fargo Bank PCard uploads
  • Help with biweekly payroll procedures
  • Coordinate monthly rental increase notifications
  • Contribute to both internal and external monthly financial reports
  • Conduct account analyses as directed
  • Collaborate with colleagues from various departments to ensure accurate coding and approval of invoices and address any vendor-related issues
  • Accurately process invoices and allocations in a timely manner
  • Handle high-volume check runs efficiently
  • Process ACH auto pay invoices
  • Provide training to new Yardi PayScan users
  • Maintain all accounts payable records
  • Manage resident deposits and refunds
  • Assist with credit applications
  • Perform bank reconciliations for communities and Home Office, as needed
  • Support in annual 1099 reporting
  • Assist with Navigator GPO Administration tasks, if assigned
  • Coordinate annual renewals of Business Licenses, as directed
  • Assist in annual entity reporting requirements
  • Participate in special projects as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, including ten-key by touch
  • Willingness to work additional hours when necessary to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Self-motivated with a positive collaborative spirit
  • Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable processing experience
  • Background in Accounting with a BA degree being a bonus
  • Prior experience in Senior Living is a plus
  • Familiarity with Yardi software is advantageous
  • Experience in property management would be beneficial
