As a Career Coach, you will deliver career development assistance to job seekers within our community. Your role involves aiding clients in crafting resumes, preparing for interviews, devising job search tactics, and planning their careers. By leveraging your expertise, you will improve their employability and help them secure valuable job opportunities. Effective communication skills in both English and Spanish, as well as a profound comprehension of the local job landscape, are essential for this role.

Reports To: Director of Economic Mobility Services

Responsibilities:

  • Offer personalized career coaching
  • Evaluate clients' skills and aspirations
  • Provide insights on career trajectories and educational options
  • Assist in honing job search abilities, such as networking and online applications
  • Collaborate with local organizations and employers
  • Conduct workshops on career-related subjects
  • Stay informed about labor market trends
  • Monitor and record client progress and outcomes
  • Deliver financial guidance when necessary
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  • Work alongside JPNDC staff to assist clients

Requirements:

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, Google Apps, and social media platforms
  • Preferably an Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience as a Career Coach or in a similar capacity
  • Understanding of career development theories and job search tactics
  • Familiarity with local job market dynamics and industry trends
  • Outstanding communication and organizational aptitude
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with diverse groups
  • Dedication to social justice and community growth

Work Environment: This is a full-time role with a flexible schedule that may include some evenings and weekends.

Compensation: Salary ranging from $55,000 to $63,000, accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
