Opportunity Overview

We are currently seeking a qualified English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for our elementary school. Candidates must possess a valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education by the time of hire.

We are only able to consider applicants who have current work authorization in the United States.

The salary range for new teachers at Match is between $61,812 and $98,899, based on prior full-time teaching experience. Additionally, Match provides a comprehensive benefits package, which includes 90% coverage of employee health insurance costs and up to $150 per month in loan repayment assistance.

Role and Responsibilities

At Match, our ESL teachers are referred to as Language Acquisition Teachers (LAT). LATs play a crucial role in delivering language instruction and supporting our multilingual student population. Positions are available at our elementary, middle, and high schools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing co-teaching and instructional support in general education classes with multilingual learners;
  • Delivering targeted language interventions to small groups of multilingual students;
  • Utilizing ELD levels and formative assessments to inform instruction and meet language acquisition goals;
  • Managing the school's language acquisition programming, including necessary documentation, professional development for teachers, and communication with parents and students;
  • Regularly updating families on student progress through various communication methods;
  • Collaborating with team members to enhance language development practices within the classroom.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have a minimum of two years of full-time experience as an ESL, classroom, or special education teacher, preferably in an urban educational environment;
  • Hold a valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education or be able to obtain it by the time of hire;
  • Believe in the potential for all students to succeed;
  • Be committed to ongoing professional development and have a proven track record of student achievement.
