Job Summary

CoxHealth, a leading healthcare system, is seeking a Vice President of Marketing and Communication to join our team. This individual will spearhead strategic initiatives in a dynamic healthcare environment and act as the primary architect of our marketing and communication strategies.  This position will be responsible for media relations, internal and external communication, and digital media.  This role is instrumental in elevating our brand presence, fostering positive relationships with the media, ensuring transparent and effective communication both internally and externally, and harnessing the power of digital platforms to engage our diverse audiences. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will have the opportunity to shape the narrative of our health system and drive impactful change in the lives of our patients and employees alike. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the health system's mission, vision, and values.
  • Oversee all aspects of digital marketing efforts, including website management, social media engagement, email marketing, and online advertising campaigns.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure favorable press coverage and manage crisis communications effectively.
  • Lead internal communication initiatives to ensure alignment of messaging and transparency across all departments and levels of the organization.
  • Drive external communication efforts, including press releases, newsletters, and public announcements, to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and maintain a consistent brand identity and messaging strategy across all communication channels.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer insights to identify opportunities for innovation and growth in marketing and communication efforts.
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact and return on investment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives that drive engagement and support organizational goals.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics to track the effectiveness of marketing and communication efforts and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to keep the health system at the forefront of marketing and communication trends.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the health system, representing the organization at events, conferences, and industry forums to promote visibility and foster partnerships.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communication roles, with a focus on media relations, digital communication, and internal and external communication.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing techniques and platforms, including website management, social media, email, and online advertising.
  • Strong media relations skills, with experience in cultivating relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets to secure positive press coverage and manage crisis communications effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messaging tailored to various audiences and channels.
  • Experience in leading internal communication initiatives to foster transparency, alignment, and engagement among employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals and drive results.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
