Description

POSITIONSUMMARY:  Responsible for accurate and timelyprocessing of clinic work queues, including charge review, claimedit and follow up.  Responsible for communicating issues andtrends among front office staff, providers, clinic management andrevenue cycle.  Assisting in all clinic workflows leading tosubmission of clean claims and reduction of registration,authorization and injectable related claim denials.  Collectsand accounts for cash, co-pays and conducts complete cashieringfunction for the practice.



Requirements

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High Schooldiploma or equivalent required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: N/A

SKILLS:

  • Must be knowledgeable in all physician practice frontoffice operations, including registration, telephone management andreporting.
  • Extensive registration knowledgeis required including detailed knowledge of resolving missing orinvalid registration/demographic details.
  • Excellent computer skilled including dataentry
  • Requires critical thinking skills andexcellent customer relation skills including the ability to dealeffectively with demanding/difficult situations involving patients,associates and providers.
  • Must be capable ofthinking and acting independently using excellent judgment toresolve issues or problems of any unusual nature
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, operating proceduresand collection processes
  • Ability to recognize,evaluate, solve problems, and correct problems isessential
  • Demonstrate professionalism andexcellent interpersonal skills needed to effectively andcourteously deal with patient, physicians, families, insurancecompanies, and all levels of clinical associates
  • Must have familiarity of CPT, ICD-10, medical insuranceterminology and medical information
  • Must havethe ability to work in stressful situations and perform multipletasks simultaneously, remaining calm and in control of anysituation that may arise
  • Have an excellentunderstanding of Practice management software and excellentcustomer service skills are required.

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum offive (5) years experience in medical front office operations,registration and EMR usage. Epic and payer portal experiencepreferred.

-Responsible to: Clinic Manager Orthopaedic SpecialtyClinic

Works in clean, well lighted,ventilated smoke-free environment.
