Medical Office Specialist Women's Specialist/Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: Whileutilizing AIDET framework of communication, the MOS associatesfacilitates a welcome and easy access to the clinic. MOS associatesare responsible for establishing an encounter for any patient whomeets the guidelines for the clinician group. MOS associatesensure that all data entry is accurate including demographic andfinancial information for each account. MOS associates havenumerous procedural requirements including data elements, insuranceverification, and collections for all patient portions includingprior balances. MOS associates are responsible for thesuccessful financial outcome of all patient accounts. MOSassociates are responsible for ensuring the Christus St. VincentMedical Group (CSVMG) maintains compliance with State and Federalregulations, The Joint Commission, and Department of Health andHospital compliance standards (for HOPD clinics). MOS associatescommunicate directly with patients and families, physicians,nurses, insurance companies and third-party payers. Inaddition, MOS associates responsibilities include some and/or allof the following; scheduling clinic appointments, check in/outprocess, answering incoming phone calls, reminder phone calls,taking and/directing messages to appropriate staff. Provideclerical support, scanning documents, sorting the clinics faxinbox, and daily working the Missing Reg Items WQ. This positionrequires professional appearance, good communication and effectiveorganizational skills. MOS associate representatives requiredependability, flexibility, and teamwork. MOS associates mayprovide valuable support and cover staffing shortages in otherclinics. Floating to other clinics promote teamwork andcollaboration among the clinician group.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High Schoolgraduate
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: NA
SKILLS:
- Comfortable using acomputer, basic typewriting and computer skills (data entry or wordprocessing)
- Experience with excel, email andonline insurance verification
- Self-motivatedand self-directed
- Must bedependable
- Have strong organizationalskills
- Have excellent customer serviceskills
- Have strong problem-solvingskills
- Knowledge of health insurance andmanaged care concepts and requirements.
EXPERIENCE: One to threeyears of general or medical office experience or completion of amedical office program within the last two years. One to twoyears of health insurance experience is preferred.

General office environment,frequent contact with patients, VDT exposure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Long periods of sitting at times. Keyboardusage with sound ergonomic principles. Must be flexible inwork schedule.
