Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Lake Travis, Austin, TX

Discipline: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Dates: ASAP May 23, 2025

Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours Per Week

Caseload/Details:

  • Full-Time Schedule: Split time between two elementary schools, with a possibility of a third site.
  • Caseload: Manage approximately 20 students at each school. Responsibilities include delivering therapy and conducting new evaluations as needed.
  • Disabilities: Varied, including articulation disorders, language delays, and pragmatic language issues.
  • Programs: Schools have Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs.
  • Special Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is beneficial.
    • Familiarity with the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process is essential.
    • Understanding of school-based Full and Individual Evaluations (FIEs) is essential.
    • Experience with eSped is helpful.
  • Role Requirements: Develop and implement therapy schedules, conduct screenings, manage data collection, and apply behavior management strategies.

Special Requirements:

  • Licensure: Must hold a valid Texas Speech-Language Pathologist License.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of school-based experience required.
  • SLPA Candidates: Will only consider SLPA candidates who meet the following criteria:
    • 2-3 years of experience in a school setting.
    • Experience with creating and managing a school-based speech therapy schedule.
    • Experience working with students in groups of up to 4.
    • Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
    • Experience with speech/language screenings and data collection/reporting.
    • Familiarity with the roles and responsibilities of both SLPA and SLP.
