EssentialFunctions:

  • Adhere toall health and safety policies/procedures, Good ManufacturingPractices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protectiveequipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas(including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses,hearing protection, steel toe boots and seatbelts while operatingforklifts)
  • Responsible to adhere to foodquality and food safety as per quality standards and/or SafeQuality Food requirements.
  • Must have anin-depth, operational knowledge of the machine being operated andother related equipment.
  • Adhere to theproduction schedule and communicate with the Lead Hand, regardingproblems or changes that may be necessary.
  • Constantly monitor the line when running for downbottles/cans, low fills, faulty packaging, damage, missing or outof registration labels as applicable.
  • Monitorfinished product and/or cases for proper closures/seams, date andproduct codes and damaged or out of specificationpackaging.
  • Follow all Quality Assurance andProduction line standard operating procedures.
  • Perform changeovers as efficiently and carefully aspossible. Ensure that the correct settings and parts are installedand that no mechanical defects exist, that may cause damage to theequipment or product.
  • Record all necessaryinformation for production and quality records. Keep accuratedowntime reports and documentation.
  • Keepequipment and the surrounding area clean and free of debris at alltimes, including end of shift. Garbage and recycling containersmust be emptied at the end of the shift.
  • Workclosely with all departments to improve quality, increaseefficiencies, increase yields and eliminate out of specification ordamaged product.
  • Perform any other dutiesassigned by a Lead Hand, or Management

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience in a fast moving packaged goods environment,beverage production experience preferred
  • Goodinterpersonal & communication skills, both written andverbal
  • Solid understanding of productionmachinery/forklifts, including an awareness of technicalissues
  • Able to work quickly and accuratelyunder pressure
  • Formal training in areas suchas WHIMIS, HACCP, Hygiene etc. preferred
  • Forklift certification may be required

Proficiency Level:

  • Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complexissues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-levelstaff
  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/ormentoring to a subordinate group

Education and Experience:

  • High School Certification
  • 3-5 yearsrelevant work experience in a manufacturing environment

Working Conditions:

  • Physical-Continuouslystanding or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carrymaterial or equipment of moderate weight.
  • Visual/Sensory-This positionrequires regular need to give moderate attention with one or twosenses at a time.
  • Workenvironment- Work and environment are veryrepetitive.
  • Mental Stress-There is pronounced pressure from deadlines,production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
