The Opportunity:
Do you want to develop training that will transform national security? As an instructional designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can’t have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical information and tradecraft requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an instructional designerwho is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges in national security by crafting effective training.
On our team, you’ll work with SMEs, instructors, learning technologist to capture your customer’s training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their mission. Putting the learner at the center of the training experience, you’ll design creative learning solutions in a collaborative team environment. You’ll build training material with multimedia specialist, graphic artists, instructors and technical SMEs, following the instructional design methodologies.
You’ll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You’ll recommend cutting-edge learning solutions and strategies, including blended learning, gamification, etc. to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you’ll meet with SMEs, instructors, product designers, etc. throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you’ll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You’ll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a member of the learning team, you’ll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customer’s learning needs. You Have:
5+ years of experience in a professional work environment performing instructional design tasks using adult learning methodologies
Experience designing instructor led and web-based training
Experience applying accessibility and usability standards to adult learning solutions
Ability to analyze various sources of course content, including policies and regulations to develop adult learning solutions
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design
Nice If You Have:
Experience creating learning-centered experiences applying the ADDIE method
Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills
Adult learning theories and implementation related Certification
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
