Job Description

The data scientist and AI developer is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with Southwire’s connected factory systems, robotic process automation systems, and other computer system integrations. An individual in this role will also analyze connected factory data for trends and reporting. This individual will work with a variety of software tools as well as interact with a variety of IT and business functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and develop generative AI applications
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate AI solutions
• Collect and analyze business and factory data
• Transfer data into new formats to make data more appropriate for analysis
• Generating reports on business and factory data
• Search through large data sets for usable information
• Build automation to automate data collection and reporting
• Support and maintain scripts in VB Script, Java, Python, PowerShell, or any other up-and-coming scripting languages
• Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree, Computer Science or Information Systems, Master’s degree (preferred)
• Area of study/expertise: Data Scientist and Visualization Focus, ML or Generative AI Focus
• Certifications: Data Scientist and Visualization Focus, ML or Generative AI Focus
• Technical skills: VB Script, Java, Powershell SQL, Proficient with Microsoft tools, ABBYY, C#, Python, .Net, SOAP & REST API, R, Vertex AI
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's
Specialized Degree: Computer Science or Information Systems preferred
Years of Experience: Any
Field of Expertise: Data Scientist and Visualization Focus, ML or Generative AI Focus
