PositionDescription

TheRegional Plant Controller, Southwest is responsible for the overallintegrity, accuracy and completeness of the company’s manufacturingoperations financial results and safeguarding of the plant assets.The Regional Controller Southwest partners with manufacturingoperations management team and engages in all aspects of theseoperations to provide timely and comprehensive financial leadershipto the plants across Canada.

Essential Functions:

  • Overall responsibility for the multiple plant operationsfinancial results and delivery of accurate timely results inaccordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),company processes/procedures and statutory regulations. Achievesthis through working closely with the Plant management team, CostAccounting/Inventory management and Supply Chain Financeteams.
  • Work with plant management teams to setannual standards and production yields for financial reporting andcosting analysis
  • Provide financial guidanceand support to plant management with proactive communication ofaccounting/reporting issues and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance/input to management on key businessdecisions that enable effective and efficient operations anddelivery of WOW savings
  • Provide guidance toplant management in the origination of capital expenditurerequests. Prepare/review financial support for the capex requestsensuring compliance to Refresco policy and robust accurateprojections of costs and savings generated by the project. Performpost capital expenditure audits and reviews.
  • Ensure the Manufacturing plant finance team provideslocal subject expertise for SAP financial reporting and processes.And ensure integrity of plant financial data and information inRefresco systems
  • Ensure compliance with keycontrol procedures and corporate policies and procedures at thelocal level plant management team to ensure the overall financialintegrity of the plant financial information and safeguarding ofassets.
  • Weekly/monthly working capitalreporting. Work with Plant management to manage effective workingcapital utilization and cash flows. Significant areas of focusbeing inventories and capex cash flows.
  • Maintain open communication with peers to foster aconsistent approach in the financial management of the localoperating units.
  • Provide support for externaland internal audits at the operating facilities. Complete otherad-hoc reporting requests
  • Manage theweekly/monthly/quarterly flash forecast process with the plantmanagement team to deliver accurate forecasted bottling results.Appropriate identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Lead the development of the annual Operating Plan for themanufacturing facilities within the region.
  • Work with the Plant Management Team to identify andrecommend process improvements that will deliver financial benefitsor mitigate financial risks.
  • Analyze financialdata to facilitate decision making process at the plant managementlevel

Education andExperience:

  • Bachelor's in Accountingrequired. 
  • CPA, CMA or equivalentdesignation
  • Manufacturing & costingexperience
  • Minimum of 5 years at Controllerlevel
  • US GAAP & Sarbanes Oxleyknowledge
  • ERP System experience

  • Financialanalysis skills (identifies information needed to prepare andvalidate analyses; interprets and draws conclusions from financialinformation; extracts meaning from data by recognizing trends andpatterns)
  • US GAAP & Sarbanes Oxleyknowledge
  • Ability to demonstrate continuousimprovement in previous roles. Active involvement in cost savingsdevelopment.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley implementation andmaintenance experience.
  • Emphasis on problemprevention and developing ideas for improvement.
