Job Purpose


The Customer Account Sr. Representative II is responsible for managing the overall relationship between Honda and assigned Honda engine wholesale distributors striving to be the expert on the distributor business, building a trusted partnership as it relates to the distributor's need for Honda engines sales to OEMs and Dealers, engine application matching, regulatory guidance, demand forecasting, and channel support.

Key Accountabilities
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and OEM placement / sales to accurately forecast Honda Engine demand and achieve Honda distributor wholesale results.
  • Establish Honda distributor business results criteria, review and discuss quarterly, establish action plans, and follow up to improve Honda distributor performance.
  • Support Honda distributor projects / opportunities and product transitions by providing technical expertise and application assistance, and reviewing engine matching tests to ensure Honda quality and product safety. Provide distributors with technical information needed to sell Honda Engines (emission and regulatory compliance). 
  • Interface with Honda distributors and their dealers to encourage marketing fund usage, participation in Honda sales programs, promote Honda training, and ensure proper customer service.
  • Work internally (Honda Credit, Warranty, Customer Relations, TechLine) to support Honda distributors. 
  • Attend and work Honda corporate / distributor shows and events when requested.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • Bachelor degree in business or technical related field and/or minimum 7 years experience working with power equipment distributors, OEMs or dealer network.
  • Knowledge of power equipment products with emphasis on general purpose engines. Must have demonstrated knowledge and ability regarding tear-down, failure analysis and countermeasure of general purpose engines.
  • Above average proficiency with Microsoft Word , Powerpoint and Excel. SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to use and understand measuring equipment and general hand tools.  Experience with advanced engine controls is desired. 
  • Ability to understand and apply forecasting techniques for customer demand.  
  • This position requires extensive travel including travel planning and expense management. Future relocation is possible.
