Oversee the accounting department to maximize the return on financial assets by establishing robust financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Deliver financial information about all company activities to assist management, shareholders, and other stakeholders in making informed economic decisions about company’s future. Lead financial planning and analysis, including budget preparation, result analysis, and executive recommendations. Coordinate third-party audits.Responsibilities:
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures to guide financial decisions.
  • Lead the corporate planning and analysis team through the annual planning and monthly forecasting processes; develop budgets as needed.
  • Improve forecast accuracy and efficiency by re-engineering budgeting, reporting, and consolidation processes, incorporating best practices to reduce reporting time.
  • Ensure asset protection by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Verify financial condition through audits; analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, and provide necessary recommendations.
  • Oversee third-party audits; review findings and offer recommendations.
  • Provide financial perspectives and analysis to senior management to support business decisions across all operating groups.
  • Manage all internal and external financial reporting, including consolidating financial statements for the companies as required and supplying requested reports and information to HQ in Japan.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on required actions.
  • Work closely with business units across the company.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and plans to protect operations.
  • Supervise Accounting and Finance staff.
Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, computer science or related field, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in either discipline, preferably solid experience in both.
  • Active CPA preferred
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial planning and analysis, income tax and banking working knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Solid writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate professional staff
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills  
  • Strong managerial abilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills
