Position Overview: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the company's accounts receivable functions. Key Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Prepare, review, and process customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure that all invoices are properly coded and aligned with contract terms.
- Collections: Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts, working closely with customers to resolve payment issues and ensure timely collections.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers and resolve discrepancies or issues related to payments, credits, and debits.
- Customer Communication: Communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices, payment terms, and account status. Address and resolve any billing inquiries or disputes.
- Reporting: Generate and review accounts receivable reports, including aging reports, cash receipts, and collections metrics. Provide insights and recommendations for improving collection processes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, payments, and correspondence.
- Data Entry: Accurately input and update customer information and payment data into accounting software and databases.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to accounts receivable and financial reporting.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to address billing issues, process adjustments, and support overall customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting role.
- Skills: Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, team members, and management.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing invoices, payments, and financial data.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to accounts receivable and customer payments.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
