Boeing is currently looking for a Tool and Die Maker (Machinist) to join their team in San Antonio, Texas. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services(BDS) business organization. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Able to read and interpret work orders, read part lists, specifications, and receiving documents, etc.
  • Ability to document work performed and maintain First time pass quality
  • Able to apply basic mathematics to count, add, subtract parts and inventory, etc.
  • Able to set up and operate a variety of hand tools: measuring tools, etc.
  • Able to fabricate parts per Company and customer specifications.
  • Able to set up and operate a variety of simple measuring devices: scales, etc.
  • Able to operate company vehicles and other GSE equipment required for accessing statement of work.
  • Able to operate a terminal or computer to input, retrieve and interpret information in work instructions.
  • Able to operate overhead cranes, hoists, scissor lift, forklifts, etc.
  • Maintain tools and equipment and work area.
  • Able to identify parts and assemble into parts kits, hazardous material kits, tooling kits, etc.
  • Able to prepare parts as needed prior to job start.
  • Ability to identify parts and panstock items including sealers and hazardous materials.
  • Ability to perform rough cutting and non-angular cutting of materials.
  • Verifies materials and merchandise as received against receiving documents: Reports discrepancies and damage..
  • Conducts inventory of received materials and reports deterioration/ damage.
  • Able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
  • Able to perform assigned duties on all shifts without encumbrances due to weather or physical location and conditions.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications(Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ year of experience with hand tools; pneumatics/ electric tools, lathes and measuring instruments
  • Must be able to work variable shifts
  • 1+ year of experience in working with blue prints, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of sheet metal experience
  • 5+ of experience with CNC Machining is preferred
  • 5+ years Machine shop experience is preferred
  • Proficient in computer skills including but not limited to: aircraft related systems and basic office software

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Typical Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Pay Rate: $68,640

Additive Pay:  $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

                         $1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification

                         $2.00/hourly for both Airframe & Powerplant Certifications
