Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician 3 or Avionics Technician 4 to contribute to our Defense Systems sector. This role involves supporting organizational maintenance for advanced military aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and recovery operations on F-35 aircraft.
  • Assist in implementing field-level modifications and maintenance actions.
  • Provide on-the-job training for team members and partner maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain and update aircraft maintenance records using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Perform Airframe and Powerplant General (APG) tasks as part of Contractor Logistics Support (CLS).
  • Utilize various test equipment and interpret technical data effectively.

Qualifications:

  • For Aircraft Mechanic 3: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of relevant F-35 Avionics maintenance experience.
  • For Aircraft Mechanic 4: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of relevant F-35 Avionics maintenance experience.
  • Must possess an active Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and blueprints.
  • Capability to obtain Collateral Duty Inspector Qualification within 18 months of starting the position.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to secure Special Access Program clearance.
  • Flexibility to work first or second shifts as required.
  • Willingness to undertake temporary duty assignments on short notice.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps, particularly in relation to F-35 Fighter Aircraft Systems.
  • Possession of F-35 Collateral Duty Inspector Designation or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in F-135 Powerplant engine run certification and structural repairs.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in a military-focused customer service environment.
