Description

SAIC is looking for a CAD/Drafting Technician to support the US Navy's Computer Defense Network project in North Charleston, SC.

Job Description:

  • As a member of the NIWC LANT Network Security Integrated Project Team (NS IPT), the candidate will be supporting the Modernization (Installation)Team as a Drafter/CAD Operator. 
  • Draft and document equipment racks, equipment mounting kits, and equipment subassemblies.
  • Prepare drawings in support of the systems engineering process of preliminary and critical design reviews.
  • Maintain configuration management of drawings. 
  • Efficiently, thoroughly, and independently solicit data required to create detailed drawings/designs using AutoCAD software.
  • Works with team of design engineers to capture their drawing/model requirements. 

Travel: Anticipated travel is up to 25%, both CONUS and OCONUS. Candidate must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • AA degree in related discipline and three (3) years of related experience; or GED/HS degree and five (5) years or more of related experience 

Required skills:

  • Five (5) years of experience drafting/illustrating in the electronics field to include computerized drafting applications, digital imaging techniques, use of AutoCAD, planning and preparing graphic presentations of complex items.
  • Experience with DoD processes and procedures in Engineering / Cybersecurity and Program Management.
  • Comfortable with the creation of in-depth, accurate technical documentation.
  • Experience with NIWC Shore Installation Process Handbook.
  • Experience using O365 Suite, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
  • Experience with port call and cable run sheets.
  • Experience creating documentation under a government contract.  Ability to redline documentation and guides for procedural improvements and data capture.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment

Required clearance:

  • Active Secret Clearance and have eligibility for a Top Secret Clearance.  Higher clearances accepted.
