Job Description:
Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a full-time position in the River Park, FL area for the 2024-2025 school year. This role involves providing one-on-one interpreting services to support a student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for academic instruction, discussions, and interactions between the student and peers, teachers, and other school staff.
- Facilitate effective communication between the student and their peers in various educational settings, including classrooms, activities, and events.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the students educational and social needs are met.
- Follow ethical standards and guidelines for professional conduct and confidentiality.
- Assist with classroom preparation and adaptation of materials to support the students learning and communication needs.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., RID certification, EIPA certification, or state certification).
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant sign systems.
- Experience working as an SLI in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to the educational environment and work collaboratively with a diverse team.
