Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter
Location: Tinley Park, IL Area
Employer: Soliant Education

Soliant Education is seeking a licensed and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join a school district in the Tinley Park, IL area. This is a full-time, on-site position for the 2024-2025 school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation and transliteration services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers using American Sign Language (ASL) or other manual communication systems.
  • Assist with classroom instruction, discussions, and activities to ensure access to educational materials and content.
  • Collaborate with educational teams and support staff to promote the academic and social-emotional development of students.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or Educational Interpreter.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication modes.
  • Experience working in educational settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different educational environments and student needs.
