Work Schedule:
Per Diem

Shift Details:
Day shifts with potential evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Work Location:
St. Luke's Hospital

Travel Requirements:
May involve driving an average of three or more times weekly

Key Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Manager of Interpreter Services or their designee. Responsibilities include providing on-site/on-call coverage for Interpreter Services as needed. Deliver precise consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation from spoken English to American Sign Language and vice versa. Establish a smooth rhythm of interpretation to facilitate effective communication between parties. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all encounters.

Required Qualifications:
- An Associate’s Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in a relevant field is mandatory.

- Training in medical terminology is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills suitable for managing sensitive patient and/or employee matters.

- Proficiency in both English and American Sign Language.

- A minimum of one (1) year of related experience is required.

- Certification of completion from a Medical Interpreter Training program.


All candidates must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and the COVID-19 virus or provide a valid exemption for medical or personal reasons upon hiring.


Compensation:
USD $30.89 /Hr.
