Are you a highly motivated payroll professional with a passion for accuracy and efficiency? We're looking for an experienced Payroll Consultant to manage the daily operations of our in-house Payroll Department, ensuring timely and precise processing for over 40,000 Associates.
In this role, you’ll utilize advanced systems to collect, review, and report payroll data, oversee wage calculations, tax withholdings, and deductions, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws. You’ll also handle direct deposits, print and distribute paychecks, and provide training on policies and wage laws. With no direct reports, you'll work closely with the Payroll Manager and other supervisors to maintain a seamless payroll process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process multi-state payroll for 40,000+ Associates on a bi-weekly and off-cycle basis.
- Conduct payroll audits to ensure data accuracy, including validating inbound integrations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of payroll systems and utilize technology to enhance processes.
- Serve as the primary contact for payroll escalations, assisting with complex issues and customer service inquiries.
- Oversee final payment calculations, audits, and disbursements.
- Audit and verify Associate transactions, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
- Protect the confidentiality of employee information and payroll records.
- Lead by example, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Stay updated on payroll trends, regulations, and technologies, recommending process improvements.
- Assist with year-end activities, including tax reconciliation and W2 processing.
What We're Looking For:
- CPP certification or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of payroll processing experience, with 2-4 years in a supervisory role.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- In-depth knowledge of wage and hour laws.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with UKG Workforce Dimensions or Oracle Payroll/Time and Labor is a plus.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
