Job Description:

 

As a Systems Security Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting open-source research on cyber threats, providing intelligence analysis to support incident response, and reviewing cybersecurity indicators to maintain operational security. You will also support digital forensics efforts, write and review analytical products, and coordinate incident response efforts with partners. Additionally, you will update and present cybersecurity training materials. Your role will involve assessing security controls, implementing countermeasures, and advising on risk management and disaster recovery plans.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct open-source research on cyber threats to identify and assess potential risks.
  • Provide intelligence analysis to support cyber incident response, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
  • Review cybersecurity indicators against normal operational security processes, providing notifications or escalation as needed.
  • Support efforts in digital forensics and eDiscovery, analyzing data to uncover and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
  • Write and review cyber analytical products, ensuring accuracy and relevance of intelligence reports.
  • Provide case support to local and federal cyber and counterterrorism investigators, assisting with technical expertise and analysis.
  • Coordinate incident response efforts for partners, including providing on-scene support during cybersecurity events.
  • Update and present sections of the Cyber Liaison Officer course, sharing knowledge and best practices in cybersecurity

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of encryption algorithms and computer networking protocols.
  • Strong understanding of risk management processes and cybersecurity laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with access control principles and authentication tools.
  • Proficiency in systems security engineering and Risk Management Framework requirements.
  • Expertise in systems testing and evaluation tools and techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain risk management and technology procurement.

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of current and relevant experience in cybersecurity, risk management, incident response or digital forensics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

 Work Environment:

  • Flexible work schedule: Analysts will work a 4/10 schedule with flexibility in start times and must be willing to adjust their schedule as needed. Some after-hours availability and willingness to respond to the fusion center during an emergency are expected.

Salary and Benefit Information:

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $110,000. However, this is not a guaranteed compensation or salary range; the actual salary will be determined based on factors such as experience, geographic location, and potentially contractual requirements, and it may fall outside of the mentioned range
