As a Mechanical Product Design Engineer at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world’s most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. We are a matrix engineering and technology organization so you will touch multiple programs over your career

What You Will Be Doing

As a Mechanical Product Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

-Reviewing and understanding engineering requirements, specifications and drawings, identify and evaluate hardware discrepancies, test failures, and provide engineering dispositions for those discrepancies determined to be defects in a fast-paced production environment.
-Applying sound engineering principles
- Supporting new design/development activities and test missile work, including responding to hardware change requests and preparing/implementing engineering changes thru release.
- Supporting similar efforts for the JASSM program, as required.

This position requires flexible working hours, but typical work days are weekend shifts.

It is possible that travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is possible that travel will be both within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS).

Candidates filling this position will need a US citizen and will need a clearance at the level specified in “Clearance Level” or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified. In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design for both development and production phases in aerospace or a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in a production support role, working non-conformance and hardware dispositions
- Good communications skills with team members and hands-on experience required.
Desired Skills:
- Working knowledge of Catia V5 and/or Windchill.
- Previous MRBE experience
- Familiar with root cause / corrective action failure investigations
- Previous experience on missile system production

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
