Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our HQ Local Government Affairs team as the manager of strategic advocacy. The manager is responsible for local legislative tracking and analysis across Comcast’s footprint, providing strategic support to our local government affairs advocacy team, and supporting advocacy efforts in our hometown of Philadelphia.This position is based in Philadelphia, PA and requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Local Intergovernmental Associations

  • Support the management of Comcast’s partnerships with Local IGAs including organizing Comcast’s sponsorships and attendance.
  • Educate Local IGAs on policies that expand broadband access and close the digital divide.
  • Provide strategic support for regional IGAs and convenings such as Municipal Leagues.

Philadelphia Advocacy Coordination

  • Serve as the project manager for HQ’s support of strategic advocacy in Philadelphia.

Legislative Tracking and Analysis

  • Monitor, and identify trends within, relevant local legislation from around the country.
  • Coordinate with Local GA Policy and Advocacy teams to ensure field teams are prepared to respond.

Provide Support for Advocacy, Campaigns, and Partnerships as needed.

Professional Experience, Qualifications, & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 to 5 years of government affairs, campaign, or related advocacy experience;
  • Familiarity in politics and the legislative process
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills;
  • Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Proficient utilizing relevant computer software programs, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Maintains the highest levels of ethical conduct and integrity.
  • A strong desire to continually improve and undertake new challenges.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Proven experience acting in a proactive, solutions-oriented manner, looking for ways to add value and assist the team.
