Responsibilities
Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories. Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
- Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensures software standards are met. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
- Designs, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
- Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
- A thorough understanding of Agile development life-cycles and approaches. Experience with formal software development practices including the use of software configuration management, coding standards, and style guides.
- Experience in designing, developing, and testing software using programming languages such as C, C++.
Qualifications
Required
- BS 2-4 Years, MS 0-2 or HS 8-10
- Ability to create clean, minimal, and efficient websites
- Demonstrate initiative in performing job tasks
- Exhibit problem-solving skills leading to sound judgment and quality decisions
- Greater than 2 years’ experience with C, C++
- Experience with embedded / real-time operating systems such as Linux, VxWorks, other
- Must BE ABLE TO OBTAIN and maintain a TS clearance
Preferred
- Masters Degree in embedded code development
- Proficient in embedded software architecture and design
- Proficient in C, C++
- Additional experience with Assembly language
- Proven experience developing & designing software for satellite bus and payload modules
- Experience with digital signal processing in C/C++ and using software such as GNU Radio or MATLAB
- Experience working on government contracts and customers
- Experience in developing test, simulation, or data processing applications in high-level languages such as Python, Ruby, IDL, or MATLAB
- Active TS/SCI clearance
Equal Pay Act
This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
