Empower Independence: Occupational Therapist (K-12) - Soliant Education (Boston, MA Area) (Multiple Positions Available)

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) seeking a rewarding opportunity to empower students of all ages to achieve independence and participation in all aspects of their school experience?

Soliant Education is seeking qualified Occupational Therapists (OTs) to join our team in the Boston, MA area These full-time, on-site positions for the 2024-2025 school year offer a unique chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students across the entire K-12 spectrum (multiple positions available).

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct individual and group occupational therapy evaluations to identify students' needs related to fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care skills, and participation in school activities across all grade levels.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's occupational therapy goals, considering their age, developmental stage, learning style, and specific educational setting.
  • Utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches to address a range of occupational therapy needs commonly seen in students across K-12, such as:
    • Fine motor difficulties (handwriting, grasping, manipulation)
    • Gross motor delays (coordination, balance, strength)
    • Sensory processing challenges
    • Difficulties with self-care skills (dressing, eating, toileting)
    • Assistive technology needs
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, administrators, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting each child's development and participation in all settings.
  • Provide students with strategies and interventions to promote independence in the classroom, cafeteria, playground, and other school environments.
  • Monitor student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of interventions to inform ongoing therapy plans.
  • Create positive and supportive learning environments that foster independence, participation, and skill development in students across the K-12 spectrum.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in occupational therapy for the diverse needs of the K-12 student population.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts State License in Occupational Therapy (OT).
  • Prior experience working with students with developmental delays and disabilities in a school setting, preferably across the K-12 spectrum, is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and program development tailored for students at various developmental stages (elementary, middle, and high school).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students of all ages, parents, and school staff across diverse grade levels.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on student progress.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development as it relates to occupational therapy needs.
  • Passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential in all educational settings.
  • Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet the needs of students in various classroom environments.
