Architectural Planning Associate Manager

As the Architectural Planning Associate Manager, you'll help define and refine program standards and communicate project-specific scope. You'll use Best Buy's floor plan, prototype design and building standards to create site-specific merchandise, fixture layouts, documents and specifications. You'll individually review and refine the site-specific documents as well as delegate review to partners. You'll also function as a technical lead and site administrator for Best Buy systems for file sharing, bidding, contracting and invoicing.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do
  • Drive communication and reporting accuracy across consultants
  • Work closely with Architectural Planning Managers and specialists to understand requirements for project development and documentation
  • Write request for proposal language and review associated submittals, contract documents and invoice/pay applications
  • Communicate risks to leadership, creates mitigation and contingency plans and assign risk management owners as necessary
  • Develop and manage budget for multiple consultant contracts and trades across each project
  • Work with the leaders to ensure plans support the achievement of company objectives and strategy

Basic qualifications
  • 3 years of design, planning, architectural or engineering leadership experience
  • 3 years of experience purchasing, negotiating, and using terms and funding strategies
  • 3 years of experience in retail working with leaders and improving customer experience
  • 3 years of experience building and developing functional teams
