About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy individual to join the National Deep Inference Fabric (NDIF) as the Technical Community Outreach & Education Manager to advance our cutting-edge nationally funded AI research platform around Large Language Models. As the face of our project, you will be instrumental in creating and nurturing a vibrant community of researchers. Your primary responsibilities include developing engaging content such as newsletters, articles, technical tutorials, and workshop material tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. In addition to content creation, you will be responsible for organizing open-source efforts to create a website containing tutorials and online materials, and you will organize conferences and workshops at multiple locations to help foster adoption of the platform collaboration within the community.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner and will have a strong understanding of machine learning and AI including python and pytorch.

Your role will be pivotal in establishing NDIF as a leading hub for AI research in America. You will drive initiatives that enhance our community's engagement and position our group as a thought leader in the field. Responsibilities:

Create a community of technical and non-technical audiences, and consistently engaging with them both online and offline using various marketing and Communications tools leveraging digital and traditional media.

Creating website tutorials, FAQs, newsletters, webinars, and articles explaining the uses, operation, and applications of our technical platform, including supervising a team of co-op students creating tutorials and code examples demonstrating the inner workings of open-source large language models.

Organizing and hosting conferences and workshops to bring the NDIF platform to researchers and students across various academic institutions within the USA.

Organizing feedback sessions, summits, panel events, and summarizing key findings from feedback sessions.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Digital Media, with a minor in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering etc.) or vice- versa. a technical background is required

Minimum of 8+ years of experience in technical writing, technical product marketing, or communications, ideally within higher education, a related non-profit, or a dynamic corporate setting.

Proficient understanding of API(s), software development lifecycle (including design, testing, and release), demonstrating hands-on experience.

Exceptional verbal, writing and presentation skills, showcasing the ability to articulate technical concepts persuasively for diverse audiences.

Technical and digital proficiency across various platforms, including web and social media.

Proven ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective communication strategies; strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Adept at working independently, demonstrating a team-player mentality with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Adaptable and creative thinker open to new ideas, capable of managing changing priorities in a fast-growing and dynamic organizational environment.

~10 to 15% % of this position may require travel within United States
