This position is part of the Office of Procurement and Contracting (LOG-9), where the incumbent has complete responsibility for the development of acquisition strategy through contract execution, contract administration, and contract closeout. This position is primarily responsible for supervising and developing the procurement and administration of contracts to include but not limited to services, supplies, transportation, lodging, and general contracting needs of supported Coast Guard and supported units, including workflow and workload management and analysis and interpretation of purchasing issues in accordance with laws and regulations

Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

1. Directly supervising a workforce of a mix of civilian and active-duty personnel.

2. Planning, managing, directing, and advising subordinates, in developing the solicitations, publicizing the requirement, analyzing offers received, preparing negotiation positions, evaluating technical and cost proposals, negotiating cost, fee, or profit as well as resolving technical issues, and entering into formal contracts.

3. Developing acquisition plans and procurement administrative lead time milestones; communicating/collaborating these planning tasks with the program office/customer to ensure mission success.

4. Implementing approved contracting strategy to developing the solicitation document and/or quote to include the contract type, the pricing arrangements and incentives, set-aside considerations, subcontracting requirements, source selection plans.

5. Developing final price for negotiation position and participating as lead or member on the negotiating team ensuring a best value.
