The Regional Director, Southern Region plans, directs, carries out, and assesses regional compliance and enforcement activities pursuant to the LMRDA and related Federal and State civil and criminal laws, regulations, policies, and administrative and court rulings.
In addition, the incumbent:
- Represents the Agency with various Departmental, Federal, and State agencies, employers, and labor organizations.
- Develops Regional Office programmatic policies and strategies.
- Develops and justifies requests for staffing and financial resources and determines the appropriate allocation of these resources based on enforcement plans and priorities, and is accountable for their use.
- Participates, as a member of the OLMS executive staff, in the formulation of Agency policies, positions, and program directions.
- Chairs and participates in executive-level policy-making intra-agency, inter-agency, and intergovernmental task groups and committees developing initiatives, solving problems, and evaluating proposals with agency-wide impact and significance.
