Job Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety: Maintaining and promoting a safe work environment and safe work practices by observing and enforcing all applicable EHS rules, including the 5S standard. Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed within the production environment.
  • Quality Control: Monitoring the production standards and implementing quality control programs to ensure products meet specifications. Update and improve SOPs in accordance with production best practices.
  • Supervision: Overseeing the production process, ensuring that production targets are met, and managing a team of workers. Managing the production department by establishing and executing short and long-term goals and KPIs with a strong emphasis on quality, employee engagement and accountability.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing measures to increase productivity and reduce costs. Coordinate and lead improvement tasks utilizing external resources like cast house support and HATC. Supporting and promoting Aluminum Metal Business System (AMBS) events in coordination with the AMBS Improvement Manager.
  • Training and Development: Providing training and development opportunities for production staff to enhance skills and knowledge. Lead, coach, and develop front line Production Supervisors. Act as a resource on technical and leadership questions.
  • Planning and Organizing: Allocating resources and ensuring that production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Inventory Management: Managing inventory levels to ensure materials and supplies are always available for production.
  • Budget Management: Developing and managing budgets for the production department, ensuring operations are cost-effective. Proactively seeking opportunities for CEP (CAPEX) development and communicate these development needs to all company stakeholders.
  • Coordination: Coordinating with other departments such as procurement, maintenance, and logistics to ensure seamless production processes.
  • Reporting: Generating reports on production activities, progress, and issues for management review.
  • Problem Solving: Addressing production issues as they arise, troubleshooting problems, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred but may be substituted with experience and ongoing continuation towards a degree.
  • Minimum of five years of metals manufacturing experience are required.
  • Minimum of five years of supervisory experience is required.  
  • Knowledge of the AMBS system is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the casting process and molten metal background required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and SPC principles re required.
  • Ability to speak effectively in front of employees and stakeholders of the organization.
  • Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment.

 

Physical and Work Environment Demands:

  • Work is partly performed in a climate-controlled office setting, partly on the plant floor where individual will have exposure to substantial heat and loud noises. May occasionally be exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
  • Occasional travel, including international travel, will be required.
