Overview

As Director, Sustainability you will be responsible for driving and implementing Insmed's ESG strategy, enhancing the Company's long-term business sustainability, collaborating with our internal ESG Working Group and broader network of subject matter experts, and leading ESG reporting and compliance. You will have a thorough understanding of ESG standards, frameworks, and ratings; a strong pulse on existing and emerging ESG regulations globally; and a track record of advancing environmental sustainability initiatives. We would expect you to be a proactive self-starter who is comfortable operating independently at times, can persuasively present recommendations to senior leaders and the Board of Directors, and is adept at collaborating cross-functionally. The preference is for candidates who live locally near our Bridgewater, NJ, headquarters. You can choose to work primarily from home but are expected to come on-site as needed. We will also consider out-of-state candidates who would generally travel overnight for certain meetings or events at our headquarters or other sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Advance Insmed's ESG strategy and shape ESG priorities to meet the evolving needs of our business, in alignment with our culture and values. Oversee Insmed's ESG-related reporting and disclosures, including collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather data, synthesizing findings to develop messaging and communications, and leading the process to develop and publish the annual Responsibility Report. Partner with the Company's ESG Working Group (currently represented by Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Legal) as well as a broader network of subject matter experts to foster effective decision-making and recommendations to advance ESG actions and disclosures. Provide technical expertise with particular emphasis on environmental sustainability, leveraging industry best practices and standards, to develop policy and strategy. Collect, manage, and analyze environmental data, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, from global sites to enable reporting, determine trends, and develop objectives and targets. Recommend and lead or support implementation of programs aimed at improving Insmed's environmental impact. Provide regular reporting about ESG strategy, updates, and progress to the Nominations and Governance Committee of our Board of Directors. Prepare or support responses to ESG information requests from external stakeholders such as rating agencies, investors, partners, and others.  Oversee Insmed's third-party ESG advisor to ensure they provide us with appropriate strategic counsel and support. Stay informed about relevant sustainability regulations, frameworks, and best practices, and provide ongoing recommendations and guidance based on emerging trends.  Foster a culture of sustainability and responsibility throughout the organization. 

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the role; Master's degree a plus. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with at least three years' experience in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field. Thorough working knowledge of leading ESG reporting frameworks, including Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) guidelines, as well as ESG ratings and rankings (e.g. MSCI, Sustainalytics) Understanding of U.S. and international environmental and sustainability regulations (particularly in Europe and Japan). Experience with GHG data and protocols. Experience managing environmental sustainability at the business unit or companywide level. Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data to drive business decisions and shape strategy. Strong project management skills. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, often under tight deadlines. Ability to speak and write persuasively and clearly, with strong attention to detail.

Salary Range

Insmed takes into consideration a combination of candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required in the role, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees.

The base salary range for this job is from $171,000.00 to $239,667.00 per year
