Job Description
The Academic/Success Coaches will address individual academic, financial, career, and social issues and concerns that affect students’ success, and provide educational, social, experiential, and professional opportunities for students to become engaged professionals in Education and Psychology programs. The Academic/Success Coaches will also be responsible for:
Academic support tutoring
Testing preparation
Advising and coaching
Monitoring and tracking student progress and inputting notes,
Supporting student enrollment, persistence, retention, graduation.
Enhancing students’ collegiate experience.
Counseling students regarding any academic and personal concerns.
Supporting and guiding students through the complete life cycle of their educational program(s).
Conducting student outreach to gain insights into retention.
Coordinating initiatives that support the academic success of special and at-risk populations
Providing a “high touch” approach for at-risk students and students new to the College and University.
Keeping records of service provided through EAB Navigate and other supporting tools.
Collaborating with the University’s career services as a core service to undergraduate students within the on-campus students in the GRACIE’s Lab, including the following:

Advise students on various career choices with a degree in education; work in collaboration with the university career services to offer career services as a core service to undergraduate and graduate students within the Title III College of Education global Student Support Lab (GRACIE-OTL).

These services will not only be offered to on-campus students when they first arrive on campus but virtual students before enrollment, and throughout a candidate ‘s undergraduate career. career Advising on referrals and support students’ dispositions throughout graduation. At the graduate level, career advisors can support candidates in considering life after a master’s degree, including the possibility of earning an Educational Specialist or Doctoral degree. The Coach will coordinate with Activity Director to ensure that implementation of prescribed activities is carried out in accordance with specified objectives. Participate in planning and developing methods for program implementation and administration. Assist with coordination of program activities. Perform other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree with two years of experience in coordinating educational projects, or initiatives, summarizing and reporting results to a variety of audiences. Master’s degree preferred.
Knowledge/skills/ Abilities: Experience in the utilization of databases, and spreadsheets; excellent written and verbal communication; experience utilizing secondary data; experience and skills in research and analysis techniques appropriate for higher education; ability to conceptualize plan, and implement survey research projects; and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects within specified time frames. The successful candidate must also demonstrate strong initiative, independent thinking, and follow-through skills. They will also be proficient in using MS Suite; some experience with SPSS will be a plus.
