Job Summary:
The Warehouse Management Systems Configuration Specialist is responsible for the maintenance and administration of all WMS systems. Duties will include configuring of related software, assisting in the development and testing of modifications, developing materials and conducting training on how to use the software.
Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in systems administration and apply this to the development, execution and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
- Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid; developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones; and partnering with internal and external customers to ensure systems provided meet the long-term business strategies.
- Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths.
- Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others; identifying and initiating projects; driving the resolution of issues.
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process.
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations.
- Elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements.
- Lead the administration of all configuration for all branches between the host and warehouse management systems.
- Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
- A minimum of two years of experience in a distribution environment is required. Two years of system configuration/administration is preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employment policies, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to analyze data using multiple resources that include but are not limited to Excel and various query utilities and reporting tools.
- Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages.
- Good listening and verbal communication skills to include the ability to demonstrate diplomacy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work well with others and independently
- The ability to make quick decisions based on sound business logic
- Ability to work with Corporate office to achieve mutual goals
- Ability to remain flexible and open minded
Mental & Physical Demands:

Equipment Used:
Windows based computer, safety equipment, label equipment, and handheld scanners.
Work Environment:
This is a remote position. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday. Working more than 40 hours per work week may be required. Work will be performed indoors in a temperature-controlled climate where moderate heat, cold or humidity may be experienced. Moderate exposure to dust and dirt may also be expected. Occasional travel may be required.
