JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the processing of all students' financial aid, including Title IV, Veterans Affairs, Military Tuition Assistance, and Scholarships.
  • Administer full-service financial aid processing, including document collection, awarding, FAFSA verification, and loan certification for college-related programs.
  • Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable law.
  • Package financial aid and submit information to the outsourced vendor for processing.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional guidelines for student enrollment and financial aid eligibility.
  • Advise students in a thorough, complete, and customer service-oriented manner to determine financial aid needs and options.
  • Oversee the student financial assistance process to ensure financial aid packages are established, conveyed, and funds are disbursed in a timely manner.
  • Organize and manage the accurate and timely performance of all Return to Title IV (R2T4) calculations, R2T4 refunds, and credit balance refunds.
  • Certify students' VA eligibility and ensure notification of student enrollment changes are remitted accurately and timely.
  • Maintain and oversee all Veterans Affairs, including being a V.A. Certifying Official authorized to sign and submit Department of Veterans Affairs documents.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of federal funds to students according to Federal, State, accreditation, and institutional regulations.
  • Accurately and timely calculate and bill student tuition and fees.
  • Collect, complete, and submit required reports to the Department of Education, including but not limited to IPEDS, Campus Safety, and the annual application for Financial Aid.
  • Responsible for account receivable and bad debt management.
  • Take appropriate measures to minimize default rates (entrance interview, exit interview).
  • Answer Financial Aid questions from students.
  • Monitor and track all policies and procedures related to Financial Aid.
  • Supervise and evaluate financial aid advisors.
  • Maintain Policies and Procedures Manuals and internal control memorandums expected by external auditors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a financial aid department of an accredited college or university with direct responsibility for advising on or awarding Title IV activities or programs.
  • Knowledge of student grant, loan, and scholarship programs.
  • Strong background in compliance, including audits.
  • Strong analytical skills, competence working with numbers, attention to detail, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, State, and private financial aid regulations is essential for this position.
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and ability to handle and timely complete multiple tasks.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
