Job Summary:

The Virtualization Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of virtualization solutions within the organization. This role involves leading a team of engineers, ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of virtualized environments, and collaborating with other IT teams to support the company's overall technology strategy. Also responsible for the Citrix administration, management, and support of the organization's Citrix infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of Citrix environments, leading a team of Citrix engineers, and collaborating with other IT departments to align with overall business objectives. This position will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Citrix solutions, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of virtualization engineers, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Manage team performance, set goals, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, ensuring timely delivery of virtualization projects.
  • Maintain documentation for Citrix configurations and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Technical Oversight:

  • Design, implement, and maintain virtualization infrastructure, including VMware, Hyper-V, and other related technologies.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of virtual environments.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize Citrix performance and scalability.
  • Evaluate new Citrix technologies and best practices.

Collaboration and Strategy:

  • Work closely with other IT teams, including network, storage, and security, to integrate virtualization solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of IT infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
  • Evaluate and recommend new virtualization technologies and best practices.
  • Plan and execute Citrix-related projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to integrate Citrix solutions.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and updating of virtual environments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for virtualization processes and configurations.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and virtualization.
  • 9+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualization technologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Citrix engineers.
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop team members' skills.

Skills:

  • Strong technical expertise in virtualization and cloud computing.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of Citrix products and technologies.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar are highly desirable.
  • Relevant Citrix certifications such as CCA-V, CCP-V, or CCE-V are highly desirable.

Working Conditions: Office environment with occasional requirements for on-call support and after-hours work to address critical issues or perform maintenance.
