DevOps Engineer

At Provisions Group, our customers rely on our experience and expertise to help guide them through the planning, implementation, and support of cloud-based workloads. We are seeking an experienced IT Cloud Engineer/DevOps with experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure and expertise in the strategy, design, and implementation of large-scale projects using these cloud providers. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of computing, storage, identity, and containerization. The cloud engineer will have a direct impact on the day-to-day operations and success of customer cloud operations.



Objectives of this role:

- Work directly with technical and management-level customers of Provisions Group to identify and implement technical cloud-based solutions

- Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to clients as they build their cloud competency

- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance

- Manage customer cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines



Responsibilities:

- Meet regularly with clients for status updates, and working sessions, provide education/guidance, and discuss technical solutions

- Provide accurate project estimates to the Provisions Group project management team and weekly updates

- Assess current systems and recommend improvements

- Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, recommend and implement preventative measures



Required skills:

- Strong communication and collaborative skills

- Three or more years experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions in AWS or Azure platforms

- Experience automating workflows using tools such as Azure Automation, Azure Function apps, AWS Step Functions, or AWS Lambda

- Fluent in reading and writing scripts using Powershell scripting language

- Experience administering traditional Microsoft Active Directory services

- Can demonstrate problem-solving skills even when faced with a problem in a domain or technology that has not been used before

- Experience with virtual desktop solutions such as Azure Virtual Desktop (with FSLogix) or AWS Workspaces


Preferred Skills:

- Understanding of web services, API, REST, JSON, etc

- Usage of source controls systems such as Git (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc)

- One other scripting language such as Python

- Experience with at least one RDBMS such as SQL Server, MySQL, or Postgres


**This position has a preference for those near the Nashville area. This is a contract role with the potential to turn into full-time.
