Lead Referral Coordinator

RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging, is looking for a Lead Referral coordinator to join our team. As a Lead Referral coordinator, under the direction of the Office Supervisor/Manager, provides services to patients and internal/external referring professionals by coordinating and scheduling patients. Assists with training new associates. This is a fulltime position working 8 hour shifts between the hours of 7:30am-5:00pm.

Local remote only as there will be travel to multiple Twin Cities, MN centers as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

(70%) Patient Referrals

  • Coordinates and/or schedules follow up visits and all continuing care needs including Physical Therapy, behavioral health evaluations, imaging, surgical consultations, etc.
  • Advocates on the patients behalf with the carrier to ensure approval of the necessary services for the patient in a timely fashion
  • Ensures that referrals are processed in a timely manner
  • Review details and expectations about the referral with patients
  • Provides necessary medical information such as history, diagnosis, prognosis, etc. to continuing care facilities
  • Ensures that all information needed for appointments is ready
  • Supports Pain Management team in order to ensure highest patient satisfaction
  • Arranges transportation, hotel accommodations, interpreters etc. for patients when appropriate
  • Maintains work area and applicable patient areas, such as straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and general office clean up

(15%) Staff Support

  • Assists in the training of new insurance specialists
  • Leads regular staff meetings and associate one-on-ones
  • Initiates and participates in staff performance evaluations, development of associates including performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions
  • Assists with managing overall staffing levels for adequate coverage at all times
  • Ensures comprehensive knowledge of company policies and procedures for referral coordinator team

(5%) Insurance/Records

  • Pre-certifies all appropriate exams with patient's insurance company to ensure prior approval requirements are met
  • Coordinates release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following company guidelines

(10%) Performs other tasks as assigned


Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • 1-2 years customer service experience
  • Proficient with using computer systems and typing

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years medical front office experience
  • Medical terminology and office background
  • Bilingual
