Sign-on bonus is reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteria.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the coordination and flow of patients throughout the patients visit to create an exceptional patient experience.
- Proactively check the provider’s schedule and review information within the patient record to ensure that all required information is available prior to their visit.
- Proactively obtains any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date, which helps to ensure better care is being provided.
- Upon arrival, captures patient’s vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage and preferred pharmacy information.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities based on Training and Certification Scope:
- Able to respond to patient call backs and phone in prescription refill requests.
- Able to administer medication and injections, as directed by Physician/Provider
- Able to perform phlebotomy on patients, as directed by the Physician/ Provider
- Able to perform EKG’s, PFT’s spirometry, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations, and other procedures, as required by the practice and directed by the Physician/Provider
- Able to perform in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician/provider.
- Able to perform sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures/surgeries according to the CDC recommended guidelines.
- Maintains all certifications/licensures as required by the scope of the role being performed.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency plus:
- Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information, plus.
- Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days, plus one of the following.
- Prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties.
- Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation | externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider.
- Or a Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA).
- Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation | externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider.
- Or completed any MA education program but has not received certification as of yet.
- Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation | externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider.
