Your Role:

This position will be a key contributor to the Elanco Corporate Accounting and Reporting (ECAR) team, Elanco’s corporate accounting function. The Advisor – Treasury, Compensation, and Intangible Accounting is responsible for the application of technical accounting research and management of month-end close for all treasury, intangible assets, and corporate compensation matters. The position will be a key business partner to HR, Treasury, and Corporate Tax by providing consultative support and assisting with strategic initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include the application of technical accounting research and management of month-end close for all treasury, intangible assets, and corporate compensation matters.  Areas of responsibility include accounting oversight for derivative accounting, accounting for debt retirements and issuances and equity issuances, intercompany recapitalization activities, corporate incentive programs, global pension accounting coordination, and management of goodwill and intangible accounting. The position will be a key business partner to HR, Treasury, and Corporate Tax by providing consultative support and assisting with strategic initiatives.

  • Research and account for corporate and affiliate incentive and benefit programs, including defined benefit plans, and partner with HR and global finance leadership to evaluate potential alternative benefit plans and incentive plans.
  • Provide accounting and analytical support to the Treasury team including evaluation of foreign currency transaction trends, accounting for external and intercompany recapitalization events, creating hedge designation documentation, and supporting other treasury activities.
  • Preparation of monthly-close and SOx deliverables related to goodwill and intangibles, equity compensation, and other areas, including audit and quality checks.
  • Perform analytical procedures on monthly results to ensure an accurate close and to provide meaningful business partnering to treasury, tax, and other critical stakeholders.
  • Provide corporate leadership and oversight to ensure compliance with Elanco Global Accounting Policies and Practices.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting.
  • Required Experience: A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience.
  • Certifications: CPA or Chartered Accountant required.

  • Public accounting experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and teaming.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of SAP S4 HANA ERP and/or OneStream solutions.
