About Our Practice

The Milliman Tampa Health practice serves a wide variety of health care related organizations, including insurance companies, health plans, pharmaceutical companies, state and federal agencies, healthcare providers, and employers. Job Responsibilities

The Practice Administrator's main duties include supporting staff with scheduling, expense reports, travel plans, timesheets, and onboarding of new staff. Additional tasks include managing client relationship database, tracking actuarial exam progress among the actuarial staff, email organization, and providing backup support to other local administrative staff. To be successful in this role, you should be proactive, meet deadlines and communicate effectively. Our ideal candidate also has previous experience as an Office Administrator or an Executive Assistant and has significant experience with office management technologies, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) products and other management tools. Ultimately, you should be able to identify and address the needs of both partners and staff and perform administrative tasks to ensure our team's workflow runs smoothly. You will be responsible for assisting with administrative functions including, but not limited to:

  • Provide support for consultants to book travel, schedule internal and external meetings, enter time in timesheet system, prepare and process expense reports, among other tasks.
  • Update and maintain client relationship database that catalogs contact information for all contacts
  • Create an efficient tracking mechanism for exam progress among the actuarial staff, and ensure it is up to date with little to no assistance from managers or consultants
  • Support recruiting and onboarding of new staff, scheduling interviews, travel, maintaining job postings in internal systems and working with HR and IT to complete the onboarding process of new hires and offboarding of terminated employees.
  • Support partners with managing priorities and deadlines
  • Support maintenance of required electronic files in accordance with firm's document retention and risk management policies; organizes and maintains files (including confidential files); maintains, updates and reviews references materials and manuals as requested.
  • Ad hoc research, creation of internal planning reports and client project support.
  • Handle confidential and proprietary materials.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Candidate has a minimum of five years of experience providing administrative assistance to senior executives.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or other related discipline
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with frequent interruptions and time constraints.
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office.
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized.
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects, with a strong team player attitude.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work under internal and external client deadline pressure.
  • Quick learner.
  • Conscientious and flexible, with a great work ethic, sense of humor, and team-player attitude.
  • Able to stand, walk, lift, and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Location

This position is based out of the Milliman office in Tampa, Florida. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.

This is a fulltime, non-exempt overtime eligible role; overtime eligible after 40 hours of work.
